UMA is delighted to welcome Arias Fernández, aka Joker, for a one-day workshop exploring his OM RASA method, a unique approach that places movement, improvisation and personal expression at the heart of the practice.
A Spanish dancer, choreographer and artistic director based in Madrid, Arias has developed a physical language at the crossroads of Krump, contemporary dance and performance. Since 2016, through OM RASA, he has been developing a training method that seeks to reveal the pure and instinctive movement unique to each artist, exploring it through play, emotions, and physical and mental boundaries.
Drawing on tools from dance, theatre, sports, martial arts, as well as physical and mental training, OM RASA invites participants to step outside their usual patterns, develop their creativity and expand their improvisational skills. The aim is to be fully present, open and able to find your own way of responding to each movement situation.
An intense day of exploration designed to push your boundaries, fuel your creativity and develop a more personal and authentic physical expression.
