Born in 1982 in Portugal, Helder Seabra is a prominent figure in contemporary dance. He began his training at the Ginasiano Dance School in Portugal before continuing his education at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels.
For over a decade, he was a key member of the renowned companies Ultima Vez (Wim Vandekeybus) and Eastman (Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), also collaborating with acclaimed choreographers such as Damien Jalet. He has performed, assisted in choreography, and taught in internationally celebrated productions.
In 2013, Helder founded Incognitus, his own creative platform — the heart of his artistic research, blending raw physicality with refined precision. Through Incognitus, he has developed a highly distinctive choreographic language, balancing experimental theatricality with deep bodily intensity.
Since 2018, he has created commissioned works for prestigious institutions while continuing to innovate with Incognitus. His body of work has become a unique voice in the contemporary dance landscape.
Alongside his creative work, Helder is deeply engaged in education. He leads classes and workshops around the world — in companies, universities, festivals, and international dance centers — always with a collaborative, exploratory approach focused on the deep connection between body and mind.
