Urban Move Academy Vernier

A dance workshop focused on movement flow and somatic work. Articulation, acrobatic flow, working with pressure and resistance: the practice explores movement qualities within the body itself, seeking the most natural effort and the right tempo. A journey through the techniques of Bartenieff and Rudolf von Laban feeds this search for the organic.

A Turkish dancer of Breaking and contemporary dance, Furkan Yılmaz has been practising for over twenty years. National champion of Turkey in both disciplines, he represents his country in international competition, from Korea to Brazil. A performer at the Istanbul State Theatre and trained at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, he brings together the power of Breaking and the search for contemporary gesture.

Open to all. External students welcome.
