17.11 – 18.11.2026, 14:00 – 17:00: Technique
19.11 – 20.11.2026, 14:00 – 18:00: Movement Research
UMA Vernier
A contemporary dance workshop in two parts. The first two days focus on technique: placement, articulation, precision and fast shifts of weight, with the physical demands specific to La Veronal’s work. The next two days open up a time for research. Working from prompts, participants explore their own movement qualities and the way a gesture is built, distorted and takes on meaning.
An Argentinian dancer and choreographer based in Barcelona, Ignacio Fizona has been a performer with La Veronal, Marcos Morau’s company, since 2024. He dances in Totentanz and La mort i la primavera, both on international tour. He also assisted Marcos Morau on the choreography of Kinkaku-ji, created in 2026 with the Bunkamura in Tokyo. Trained at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Alicante, he danced the repertoire of Akram Khan and Ohad Naharin with IT Dansa. Alongside this, he develops his own work as a choreographer: his duets Despliegue de la Penumbra and The World Ends With You are on tour, and Theater Ulm has commissioned a new piece from him for January 2027.
