UMA is delighted to welcome Joy Isabella Brown, acrobat, performer, choreographer and teacher, for a four-day workshop exploring Tricking and movement.

A self-taught artist, Joy has developed a unique practice at the crossroads of dance, gymnastics and martial arts. Her journey and artistic research have led her to explore Tricking beyond its traditional framework, creating connections between acrobatics, movement, fluidity and artistic expression.

In 2017, she joined Jacob Jonas The Company and has since developed a career combining performance, creation and teaching. Her approach draws on a variety of disciplines and an ongoing exploration of the body’s possibilities and new ways of approaching movement.

At UMA, Joy will share her world and her approach to Tricking through four days of practice, exploration and experimentation. An opportunity to discover her movement language, enrich your own practice and explore new physical and creative possibilities.
